Christmas Day in Italy is a table that stays set. The plates arrive slowly, nobody is in a hurry to reach the dessert, and the evening is for family. That is the dinner we cook at Augusto on the 25th: one menu for the whole room, four courses, served at the pace of a family dinner.

The menu is built the way our Christmas is built at home: a starter to share the mood, then a choice of main between the vegetarian, the fish and the meat, a plate of Italian cheeses with mostarda, and a dessert that ends things gently. The wines are chosen to match each course and poured at the table.

We take a single service that evening and seat fifty inside, so booking ahead is the only way in. Tell us about allergies or children when you reserve and the kitchen will have it ready.
