Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work. Others let advertising services recognise your browser on later visits and on other websites.
What cookies are
How this website uses them
The website itself works without cookies. Booking a table, reading the menu and every other page behave the same whatever you choose.
If you accept cookies, we switch on Google Analytics and advertising tags from Meta and Google. Analytics tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and whether they book. The advertising tags tell us which of our adverts bring people to the website and to a booking, and they let Meta and Google show our adverts to people who are likely to be interested. The tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager, a Google tool that only loads the tags listed here and sets no cookies of its own.
Before you choose, and if you decline, Google’s tag runs in what Google calls consent mode: it sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device and sends Google only an anonymous signal that a page was seen or a table was booked, with no identifier, which Google uses to estimate overall numbers. Meta’s tag is not loaded at all unless you accept.
The map on the reservations page is a drawing that loads with the page and contacts nobody. If you press “Open the live map”, the street tiles come from OpenFreeMap, which sets no cookies and keeps no record of you; the directions link opens Google Maps in a new tab, like any link.
The cookies
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| augusto-consent | This website (stored in your browser, not a cookie) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies, so we do not ask on every page. | Until you clear your browser data |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us which pages people read, how they reached us and whether they booked. We see numbers, not names. | Up to 2 years |
| _fbp, _fbc | Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Lets Meta recognise your browser, so we can measure which adverts lead to visits and bookings and show our adverts to people likely to be interested. | Up to 3 months |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw | Lets Google measure which adverts lead to visits and bookings, and show our adverts to people likely to be interested. | Up to 3 months |
The first line is always there, because it is how the website remembers your answer. The Google and Meta cookies are only set after you accept.
Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you decline after having accepted, we remove the advertising cookies we can reach, stop loading Meta’s tag and put Google’s back in consent mode. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
