Effective 11 October 2026

1. About us

Augusto Wine & Dine is run by ALCAPAGI BV, Hoogstraat 21, 8000 Brugge, Belgium, company number BE1038.650.165. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean ALCAPAGI BV, which is the data controller of your personal information.

If you have a question, a concern or a complaint about this policy or about how we use your personal information, write to us at info@augustowinedine.com.

2. About this privacy policy

This policy explains how we collect, use and share your personal information when you book a table, pay a deposit, sign up to hear from us by email or text message, visit this website, write to us on Instagram or Facebook, leave a review, or contact us in any other way.

3. What personal information we collect, and how

We collect personal information that you give us directly:

  • Booking details. When you book a table, on this website or through our booking system, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, the date, time and size of your party, and anything you tell us in the note, such as allergies or an occasion.
  • Payment details. Some bookings, such as the festive dinners and larger groups, ask for a deposit or a prepayment. The payment is taken by our booking system’s payment partner or by Stripe, when we send you a payment link or an invoice. We see the amount, the date and the name on the payment. We never see or store your card number.
  • Contact details for news and offers. If you sign up to receive our newsletter, emails or text messages, we collect your name, email address, mobile number, postcode and language.
  • Messages. When you call, email or text us, or write to us on Instagram, Facebook or Messenger, we keep what you send us, how you contacted us, and your marketing preferences.
  • Comments and reviews. If you comment on one of our posts or leave a review on Google, Facebook or Instagram, we see what you wrote and the public name you wrote it under.
  • Feedback. If you answer a survey or tell us how your visit was, we keep your answer.

We also collect some information automatically when you visit this website, if you accept cookies: which pages you open, how you reached us, roughly where you are, and whether you went on to book. See Analytics and advertising below.

4. How we use your personal information

  • To take, confirm, change and cancel your booking, and to prepare for your visit.
  • To take deposits and payments, and to charge the no-show fee shown at booking if you do not come and do not cancel.
  • To answer your questions, messages, comments and reviews.
  • To send you our newsletter and news about the restaurant, events and offers, by email and, if you agreed to it, by text message.
  • To understand how people use this website and whether our advertising works, if you accept cookies.
  • To ask how your visit was and to improve the restaurant and this website.
  • To prevent fraud and misuse of the booking system, and to protect our rights and our guests.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as bookkeeping.

5. Our assistant, Augustino

Part of our day-to-day work is done with the help of a software assistant we call Augustino. It reads the bookings of the day, drafts replies to emails and messages, prepares the newsletter and keeps our files in order. It uses an artificial-intelligence model provided by Anthropic to read and write text.

What this means for you: a reply you receive from us by email, on Instagram or on Facebook may have been drafted by the assistant. A member of our team reads it before it is sent, and the decisions that matter, such as a refund, a change to your booking or an answer to a complaint, are always taken by a person. The assistant does not make decisions about you that have legal effects without a person involved. We do not use your messages to train any model. If you want to know whether a message you received involved the assistant, ask us at info@augustowinedine.com.

6. Our legal basis

We use your booking and payment details because we need them to carry out your booking (a contract with you). We answer messages, comments and reviews on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the restaurant well. We send marketing emails and text messages on the basis of your consent or, for existing guests and for similar services, our legitimate interest in keeping in touch, and you can object or unsubscribe at any time. If you book a table, you may receive our news and offers by email as an existing guest: every message carries an unsubscribe link, and you can say no when you book by unticking the box, or later with that link. We use analytics and advertising cookies only with your consent. We keep some records because the law requires it.

7. Text messages (SMS)

We only send marketing text messages to mobile numbers whose owner has agreed to receive them. Giving us your number for a booking is not agreement to marketing texts. How often we send messages varies. Your mobile operator may charge you its usual message and data rates.

You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP to any text, or by writing to info@augustowinedine.com. We do not share mobile numbers or text message consent with third parties for their own marketing.

8. Instagram, Facebook and Messenger

We run an Instagram account and a Facebook Page. When you follow us, like or comment on a post, or send us a direct message, Meta processes that under its own privacy policy, and we see what you shared with us. We use Meta’s tools to publish our posts, read and answer comments and messages, and see how our posts perform. We may also show you our advertising on Instagram and Facebook; see Analytics and advertising.

If you message us on Instagram or Messenger, we answer there. We do not use your messages for anything but answering you and improving our service.

9. How we share your personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it for us and on our instructions:

  • EasyTable, our booking system, which stores bookings, sends confirmations and takes deposits through its payment partner.
  • Stripe, which processes a payment when we send you a payment link or an invoice.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit), which we use to send emails and text messages.
  • Google, for our email, calendar and files (Google Workspace), for our listing on Google Maps and the reviews left there, and for analytics and advertising on this website if you accept cookies.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for our social media accounts, their messages and comments, and for advertising, if you accept cookies.
  • Anthropic, whose artificial-intelligence model our assistant uses to read and draft text (see part 5).
  • Telegram, which our team uses to talk to each other and to the assistant about the day’s bookings.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website, and Hetzner, which hosts the assistant.

We may also have to disclose personal information where the law, a court or an authority requires it, or in connection with a sale or merger of the business.

10. Your marketing choices

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and every marketing text can be stopped by replying STOP. You can also ask us to stop at any time at info@augustowinedine.com. If you unsubscribe from marketing, we may still send you messages about a booking you have made. Text messages are also covered by our messaging terms.

11. Analytics and advertising

If you accept cookies in the cookie notice, this website loads Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and whether they book, and advertising tags from Google and Meta, which measure which of our adverts led to a visit or a booking and let Google and Meta show our adverts to people likely to be interested. The tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager. Before you choose, and if you decline, Google’s tag runs in consent mode: no cookie, nothing stored on your device, only an anonymous signal with no identifier that Google uses to estimate overall numbers; Meta’s tag is not loaded at all. Which cookies they are, and how to change your choice, is explained in our cookie policy.

12. How long we keep your data

We do not keep your personal information longer than is needed for the purpose it was collected for, taking into account how sensitive it is and any period the law requires us to keep records. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Belgian bookkeeping law requires. If you unsubscribe, we keep a note of that so we do not contact you again. You can ask us for the retention period that applies to your data at info@augustowinedine.com.

13. Transfers outside Europe

Some of our service providers are based in, or use servers in, countries outside the European Economic Area, including the United States. Where your personal information is transferred there, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

14. Your rights

Under data protection law you have the right to:

  • see the personal information we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted;
  • object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict that use;
  • receive your data in a common, readable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, write to info@augustowinedine.com. You also have the right to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, dataprotectionauthority.be.

15. Deleting your data

To have your personal information deleted, send an email to info@augustowinedine.com from the address you used with us, with the subject “Delete my data”. We confirm within 30 days what we have deleted. We may keep a booking or payment record that the law requires us to keep, and a note of your request so that we do not contact you again.

If you connected to us through Instagram or Facebook and want the data Meta shared with us removed, the same email is enough; we also remove it from the tools we use with Meta.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and if the change is significant we will tell you in a suitable way.
